Simple seasoned radishes air fried until tender and golden, serving as a healthy, low-carb, paleo, vegan, and gluten-free side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh radishes (red or Daikon), trimmed and cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil (or avocado oil as alternative)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional garnish: fresh lemon juice
  • Optional garnish: chopped fresh chives

Instructions

  1. Trim and rinse the radishes. Cut into 1-inch chunks (smaller radishes can remain whole), ensuring pieces are uniform in size.
  2. In a medium bowl, toss radishes with olive oil until evenly coated.
  3. In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, paprika, dried rosemary, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the radishes and toss well to coat evenly. Let them sit for 5 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  6. Arrange the seasoned radishes in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding.
  7. Cook for 10 minutes, shaking or stirring halfway through, until radishes are tender inside and golden on the outside. Check at 8 minutes and adjust time as needed.
  8. Remove from the air fryer, transfer to a serving dish.
  9. Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and sprinkle chopped chives on top for a fresh finish if desired.
  10. Serve immediately.

Notes

Use radishes close in size to ensure even cooking., Seasoning can be customized: swap dried rosemary for thyme or oregano; use smoked paprika or add cayenne for heat; fresh herbs should be added after cooking., Avocado oil can be used instead of olive oil for a higher smoke point., For non-vegan option, toss cooked radishes with melted butter or ghee., Fresh garlic can be stirred in after cooking to avoid burning., Leftovers store well in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days., Reheat in the air fryer at 360°F for a few minutes to regain crispness or microwave for softer texture., Oven roasting alternative: roast at 425°F for 15–20 minutes, tossing halfway through.
